Trash the Dress on Top Billing

Wow! It was very exciting to see myself on the Top Billing show last night! Thanks to everyone who congradulated me. It was filmed November last year so we’ve been looking forward to see it. Here are some of the photos that I did for the shoot. I waited for the insert to air before I published the photos.

The international trend is called Trash the Dress, but you don’t really have to trash your dress. It’s more about getting into your dress again and having a reshoot with even more exciting and adventurous shots! I approach it more like a fashion shoot where you can plan the location and timing much more than at a wedding where you normally have limited time to do your photos. I also think there is no pressure on the couple and it is all about having a fun shoot! I also think that is great because I know of many brides who really wanted to do their photos at the beach, but the venue was too far away.  So now you can re-live your dream shoot and do the shoot anywhere! I think it also great if you have a destination wedding – like the victoria falls wedding below – You might have flown from the UK to do your wedding in Cape Town and now you can do another shoot in a completely differant location! It normally doesn’t work best to do the shoot the day after the wedding because the couple will most probably be too tired!

Maybe you couldn’t book the photographer you really wanted for your wedding or your wedding pics were a disaster, so this could be your way of getting the shots you deserve -remeber you don’t have to trash your dress! It is also flexible as the shoot doesn’t have to be on a set date like your wedding.

So I hope this inspires couples and gives them more freedom to express themselves – you only have one life – celebrate it! Get great shots of you and partner!

I want to dedicate this shoot to my late grandfather. I was wearing his hat on the shoot and on his death bed he still said that he cant wait to see me on Top Billing – I am sure you had a big screen in heaven and you were you cheering me on!
